The majority of the PK-12th grade student population is African American, and Black students live in greater number in Wards 8, 7, 5, and 4. Hispanic/Latino students live primarly in Wards 1, 4, and 5 in the neighborhoods of Columbia Heights, Mt. Pleasant, Pleasant Plains, and Park View. White students live primarily in Wards 3, 4, and 6.
