After decades of decline, Washington, DC’s population started increasing after 2000. Between 2000 and 2010, the District grew by almost 30,000 residents. Between 2010 and 2018, the Census estimates that the District added another 100,000 people (although we will not know the actual increase until the 2020 Census).
