Public School Students by Race/Ethnicity and Geography

In SY2023-24 Black public school students lived in the greatest number in Wards 8, 7, 5 and 4. Hispanic/Latino students primarily lived in Wards 5, 1 and 4 and white students were concentrated in Wards 3, 4 and 6. In addition to Ward, the interactive visualization below displays where public school students lived by neighborhood cluster, DCPS high school boundary and Office of Planning areas. It also allows the user to filter for grade bands and select past school years.
